The 2009 World Congress on Power and Energy Engineering, WCPEE'09, October 5-8, 2009, Cairo, Egypt, was the second contribution of INFOMESR.

The main objective of the congress was to cover contemporary technology in the area of power and energy engineering. The congress included in its activities: regular papers that cover theory, design and technical aspects, invited lecturers, planner talks, seminars, workshops, student session and exhibition.

The congress provided a rich scientific forum for overall world university faculties, research institutes researchers and industry specialists. This occasion provided a chance to exchange information in the following designated fields of interest:

  • Renewable Energy Power Systems and Applications
  • Power System Distribution, Transmission, Planning and Management
  • Power Systems Protection, High Voltage Systems and Applications
  • Power System Quality and Marketing
  • Power Electronics
  • Electrical Machines and Applications
  • Mechanical Energy Sources, Systems and Applications
  • Student Session

From (116) full manuscript submitted to the conference secretary, were reviewed. Just (54) papers have been accepted for suitable publication in the conference and (62) were rejected. Through these (54) selected papers, (32) papers from (20) countries were presented during the conference interval, from 5 to 8 October 2009 in different (8) scientific sessions. In addition to scientific sessions, the conference activities included different invited lectures, keynote lectures, planned talks, and student session.

Also, there will be a lecture on the opening ceremony:

  • Intelligent Grid: The Grid of the Future

Finally the conference steering committee hopes that the conference has been achieved its planned mission and would like to acknowledge all contributors, members of the scientific committee and chairmen of the conference session.
